Robokiller had an established reporting cadence built around proprietary scam data.
I strengthened its narrative clarity and media relevance, elevating the report from a data summary to a sharper industry story.

Spam-blocking apps compete in a crowded market, often differentiating through feature claims and performance metrics. Robokiller had an established biannual reporting cadence built around proprietary scam data, but there was room to sharpen its narrative clarity and media relevance.
Rather than simply summarize scam activity, we saw the potential to use our first-party data to identify industry trends and strengthen the brand’s authority among media and consumers.
-
For this edition, I reframed the report around a pivotal behavioral shift: the rapid rise of SMS-based scams over traditional robocalls. I structured the report to:
Highlight emerging patterns with clear narrative
Explain why scammer tactics were evolving
Provide quotable, media-ready insights
Balance data with consumer education
Strengthen the brand’s thought leadership
-
I led the report from data interpretation through final production, partnering closely with design and PR stakeholders.
Analyzed data to identify core storylines
Developed report outline and narrative
Wrote and edited the report
Directed design handoff and review
Managed timeline and cross-team coordination

The report generated:
77 earned media placements across online and broadcast outlets
Syndicated coverage including Scripps, CBS LA, and Telecompetitor
Strengthened relationships with regulatory stakeholders (e.g., FCC)
Beyond placements, the report reinforced Robokiller’s positioning as a trusted authority in scam prevention.
